WHY DO MAMMALIAN RBC'S LACK CELL ORGANELS

All mature mammalian RBC's doesn't have cell organelles. Mature mammalian RBC's doesn't have a nucleus because with the absence of nucleus, the ceol gets a unique bi-concave disc shaped body and thus the surface area of the cell increases if there is no nucleus in it. They do not have endoplasmic reticulum because without endoplasmic reticulum, they can travel through even narrow capillaries. The absence of mitochondria helps the cell to carry more oxygen.
